Indra Jatra is one of the most important festivals celebrated especially in Kathmandu valley.The festival begins on the Dwadashi(12th day of bright fortnight) of lunar month Bhadra, and ends on Charturthi (the 4th day of the dark fortnight) of Aswin.But, on the third day ;Kumari' The living Goddess and other deities are taken out which is termed as the important day of the festival.
