It has come to know that cadres of CPN-Maoist announced seizure of the state-owned land in Chobhar of Kathmandu on Thursday.Consequently, the factory of Himal Cement located at this area is also captured.It is reported that moist cadres involved in this act are from Mohan Baidya-led Maoist.
Union chairman Ramdip Achary said Maoist took the property into their control to 'protect' the public property.Himala Cement is the first cement factory owned by the state establsihed in 1975.But, due to the dispute over environmental imapct caused by the factory it went out of operation in 2002.
